I first purchased the Bates Durashocks as a young PFC in the Marines in 1995. The Cor-fam dress shoes hurt to wear, and as a security team member and then an MP, they were horrible to pull an 8 hour post in.

*These shoes look great, have a solid plasticized outer sole that NEVER needed edge dressing.

*These shoes are as COMFORTABLE as a pair of sneakers... you can wear them all day (standing), because not only are they super comfortable, but they also BREATHE! The Cambrelle lining insulates you in hot and cold weather.

*These shoes LAST... I had at least a thousand hours wear in my original pair, which lasted me from an E-2 in 1995 to an E-6 in 2001.

*These shoes do not slip and slide like issue Cor-Fams... They have a grippy tread, so rain, snow, even ice are not a factor. I frequently had to RUN in these shoes, and they never let me down.

Just bought a new pair as I am now in the "Wedding Season", and I laugh at all the folks wearing those uncomfortable civie patent leather dress shoes.
