Survives the all-day walk test
I spent several long days on my feet in Vancouver this past week, and my feet were not tired or sore. On top of that, the strawberry color and the strappiness of the shoe made every outfit fun to wear. These shoes look sassy and smart, and it's quite a departure from the bulky look that is all too common with most comfort shoes. I even got compliments from a stranger recently. This is the second pair of Danskos I own, and I am a happy customer plotting another purchase.

However, it's important for readers to know that the leather (at least in Strawberry Nubuck) is very tough. Also, the thick straps are woven one on top the other, so the weave crosspoints did put pressure on certain parts of my feet. On first wear, the shoes indeed were uncomfortable, but I received the shoe the day before my trip, so I didn't want to return them. Plus, I loved how they looked and instead wanted to do what I could to break them in. For a couple days, I manually stretched the straps out, pulling on them throughout the day. After doing so, the leather did become softer and the fit roomier. I'm a size 7, so I was sent a 37. My guess is that a size 38 would have been better, but even so, I'm pretty sure I would've had to do something to soften the feel of the leather. Once you break in the shoe and reach a point where the leather is more supple, you'll find yourself wanting to wear the shoes every day.
