Customer Reviews:
Review #1 Most comfortable shoes ever. No Durability! They were the best thing for me since sliced bread. And then...
They started ripping and the seems, on both feet, at the same place in less than 3 months. I have never seen this before. It seems others have experienced the same thing.
They are not worth the investment. I have another model from Keen and so far so good.
Stay away from from the Briggs. Review #2 Inspiring concept, disappointing execution Love the look and design of these shoes, but fraying at the seams after only a month!
I bought these Keen Briggs Mesh shoes on a weekend trip to Portsmouth, NH recently. I found them extremely versatile, and found them perfect for a range of activities from casual-chic dinners out with nice slacks, to hiking through several inches of fresh snow in wool socks and jeans, to walking the dog in a pouring rain. In every setting, they've kept my feet warm, dry, and comfortable; --for about a month. Then I noticed that the seams in the fabric near the toe had started to fray, and worse, water leaks in at these spots.
The word "heartbroken" would be hype, but these immediately became my favorite shoes, which I enthusiastically expected to enjoy for at least a few YEARS before wearing the soles smooth, and it is terribly disappointing (not to mention the waste of good money on a defective product) to have them start falling apart after ONLY A MONTH!
Review #3 Keen shoes/sands are great, but this model is not After wearing Keen sandals for the last two years I was excited to try their shoes. Just as I expected, every pair I tried on felt excellent. They had a good grip, they were lightweight, and just felt right.
Unfortunately, after less than two weeks, the rubber started to separate in one spot. I figured it was no big deal, I'd repair it myself. Then a week later the mesh on one foot began to seperate from the leather. While the rubber problem happens sometimes, the seperation of the two key materials does not in my experience. It was very clear that just a few weeks worth of strain had push the two fabrics and thread to their limits. As of 2006, some stores, such as EMS, are no longer selling this specific model and selling them off at a deep discount.
I've replaced the Bronx mesh with the Bronx all leather. They look as if they'll do just fine and have been so far. My recommendation - Keens are great shoes, but avoid this specific model.
