Customer Reviews:
Review #1 comfortable but may be noisy i am a medical professional. these are quite comfortable but i have a heck of a time trying to get my socked foot into the shoe without squishing my toes and having the sock bunch up on top. Feet do tend to sweat beacuse there are no "vents" in this style....which causes them to "pass gas" (noise), especially if worn barefoot. i would buy the vented style in the future. Review #2 Good comfortable shoes I have several pairs of these in different colors. They are very comfortable, with or without socks. For messy work like gardening, the liner can be removed so it doesn't get wet, and they clean easily. These have generous toe width but are snug across the instep, which helps keep them on. I take a medium shoe but walk out of many clogs because they are too wide in the instep, so these are perfect, though someone with wide feet may find them too snug in that area. They make good rain shoes. Review #3 good shoes for narrow feet I just got my clogs today and have been wearing them around in the house. Like the first reviewer, I noticed that they kind of "fart" when I walk around in them barefoot, with air whooshing between the shoe and the space on top of my foot. I put socks on, and they don't make noise anymore. So far, these seem more comfy with thin cotton socks on--they don't rub my feet, and my feet haven't been sweating.
I think these shoes have good heel support. I can really tell there's a cushion beneath my heel when I'm standing or walking. Also, I notice that these shoes seem to fit more snugly around the top and sides of my feet than the Birkenstocks I had before. My feet are on the narrow side, so this is not a problem. These are actually more comfortable for me than Crocs, which always feel like they're about to fall off my feet. However, I did need to go one size larger than normal in the Quarks. I usually wear a size 9, or a European size 40, but in these shoes, a size 9 was way too tight, although it was okay lengthwise. I stepped into the size 10 and immediately knew they were just right, both in width and length.
Overall this is a cute and comfortable shoe, especially if you need a cheaper alternative to Birks or if your feet are on the narrow side. Review #4 These shoes have flatulance Sorry, although comfortable, these shoes (even with socks) squeek, squawk, and every other noise when one wears them. The all vinyl idea is great if you only want to wear them in the garden. They don't work if you want to wear them anyplace else as everyone around you stares because they a truely loud. I suspect that one would get kicked out of a library or movies due to excessive noise. I would never buy again. There are cheaper vinyl shoes for gardening.
