Great boots
My niece loves her boots that we bought in one of Renton Western Wear's stores. They have worn well and we've had no problems with them. She's been wearing them non-stop for the last three months and I suspect she'll outgrow them before she wears them out and I know we'll be buying her another pair when these are too small. Review #2
Poor construction
We are on our second pair of these boots after Renton replaced the first. In less then 10 wearings (not getting them wet) the boot's colored "skin" (no, the color is NOT part of the material itself) started to crack and peel off.
It appears that the manmade construction is just "painted" with a skin slightly thicker then typical paint. It cracks easily with wear and begins to peel off. The boots never got dirty or even looked worn, aside from this peeling.
To the credit of Renton, they replaced the first pair free of charge and were very friendly and helpful, saying this was not typical. Unfortunately, it happened again within 2 weeks with the second pair. Frankly, it isn't worth the effort to try to get them replaced again, it is clear that the product is just poorly designed. My daughter loves the boots, I just wish they would stay together and not look so shoddy.
Edit: I purchased another pair of pink boots here at Amazon (see my other review in my list of reviews) and have been thoroughly pleased with them. I recommend those in place of these. With this product either I had very bad luck or we got different products as other reviewers seem to have had good luck with an in-store purchase
