The Rockport Men's Encounter Walking Shoe is part of the World Tour Elite collection. It is a great touring shoe for a trip to Europe or the local shopping mall. Rockport is known for walking and this collection leads the charge. The shoe has the patented walking platform for a wide base of support. The Stitch-in and San Crispino provides the forefoot flexibility and aids heel stability. The Dynamic Suspension footbed (DMX) air chamber on the bottom of the footbed provides dynamic air cushioning. The Compression-molded EVA midsole provides lightweight resilient cushioning and helps reduce foot fatigue, while the solid rubber outsole provides durable grip on a variety of surfaces. The shoe has a removable footbed, fiberlon shank support that provides lightweight midfoot support, and is airport friendly.

Rockport Believer
When my wife bought my first pair of Rockports, the World Tour Classic, a couple of years back. I was skeptical and always had the notion of "a shoe is a shoe"...

Now that I purchased my second pair of the World Tour Elite Shoe, I don't think I can wear any other pair of shoes again. They are very comfortable, but looks very stylish that you can wear it to fine dining restaurant or the ballgame.

Better Than My Prescribed Orthotic Inserts!
I'm a larger guy (height and width!), and also have large feet. The EE size took a couple wears to finally "Wear-In" but when they did, oh boy! These shoes are extremely light yet strong and supportive. The sole is stable and "grippy" on all surfaces and lets me walk confidently, even on wet/rained on coated or painted cement. This isn't a "shiny" shoe, so if that bothers you, you may wish to look elsewhere, at first it bothered me, because I like shiny shoes, but this gentle grain look will grow on you, and it's probably the reason why it doesn't hurt the tops of my feet, because the exterior material is so soft and giving. The real action occurs inside the shoe... I typically wear doctor prescribed orthortics as my arches are in a sad state from being so heavy and wearing flat shoes (I like to wear skate shoes) all the time, so I often suffer from burning and sore feet, or sever aches in my arches. Even when I wear my supports, I often have slight pain, although much reduced than when I don't wear them. However, when wearing these shoes, as I have for over a couple weeks now, I have not had to use my Orthotics at all, and the best part is, I don't even have "slight" pain anymore, it's all gone! My feet no longer feel fatigued, itchy and "burny", or punctured, they always feel...well like good feet! The inside of this shoe really has some technology going on, it comfortably supports my arches but still gives when necessary, it feels like an air/spring suspension, it's quite amazing. It's also very soft, yet very supportive. This shoe has been a great find at this price, I would have paid double had I known the benefits it would bring. I went from painful feet from just a few hours of work/walk, to now a whole day (16+ hours on occasion) of work and walk without a single pain or tingle. A great buy!

When I wore the shoes the first time they were comfortable from the start. I always buy Rockport and have always been satisfied with the comfort.

Finally, a shoe I can wear all day long
I've had foot problems this past year. Shoes that I had worn comfortably for years, including other Rockports, Ecco, New Balance, Avia, Reebock, Asics, etc..., were suddenly uncomfortable and painful to wear all day long.

These Rockports are great. I'm finally NOT in a hurry to get home and get into my slides. I was to the point that I'd pay $300 or better for a comfortable pair of shoes. This shoe is well worth the money.

Rockport Walking Shoe
Love 'em. I wear these shoes a lot. And just like most Rockport lace up walking shoes, they are comfortable, give me lots of traction and make walking a pleasure. They are like extensions of my body, they fit so well.
