Stiff but looks great!
This shoe looks just as good out the box and on your foot. However they are a bit stiff and aren't light on your feet as some of my other sport shoes. Let's hope I just need to break them in more...

Even at list price, these shoes would be a bargain
I picked up a couple pairs of these when Amazon had a special deal on them. I'd been looking for a replacement for my Ecco Receptors and these were the first shoe I had found that at least appeared to be comparable in design and would fit my "C"-width feet. Right out of the box I knew I had struck gold. They fit *perfectly* and were *incredibly* comfortable. There was a somewhat painful break-in period where the shoes had to conform to the odd juts and curves of my feet, but that only lasted a few days, and after that they felt fine. I have a high instep, and the lacing on these, unlike every other Rockport shoe I have ever tried on, allows for plenty of adjustment.

If I have any complaints, they would be that the laces are not really sturdy enough for the lacing system (I'm probably going to have to replace them in a few months) and the toes frequently need polishing, but those are very minor annoyances. All the positives of the shoes more than make up for the negatives.

Follow-up notes after six weeks of hard daily wear:

I was right. The laces began to shred and needed replacement after about three weeks. In an ironic twist, I ended up using some Ecco replacement laces, as the only laces Rockport supplies that would work with these length-wise appear to be even less sturdy than the originals. Go figure. Otherwise, with a little scrubbing and polish on the toes, they look like new.

The bottom line remains the same, though. These are terrific shoes!
