Customer Reviews:
Review #1 Protective stability shoe I have put about 250 miles on my Saucony Trigon Guides now. They have taken good care of my feet. I always feel good after the run and the next day.
With any running shoe the key is to find a good match between the runner's style and shoe design. With so many good shoes out there, it's most productive to focus on how the shoe matches your running style.
These shoes seem designed for runners who benefit from a modest amount of medial stability and who land on the heel (as opposed to the midfoot or forefoot.) The Trigon Guide's heelstrike feels very soft, and transitions through toward pushoff with a feel almost like propulsion.
For midfoot strikers like me, the shoe feels a bit clumsy and not quite as quick as other shoes in this weight class. I found the match improve a bit when I trimmed some material from the tread at the back of the heel.
But I think there is a fairly broad cross section of runners who will fit this shoe nicely.
