Good shoe; be careful on old style astro-turf
I officiated football in this shoe this year and it worked out very well. However, next year, I'll probably make this my grass and mud shoe since there are better alternatives on the newer field-turf playing surfaces and this shoe is not going to be a good shoe for the older style astro-turf surfaces. The cleats on this shoe are longer than most turf type shoes and are very similar to the old Adidas molded cleats sold in the 1970s (which I wish were still sold; those were great football shoes).

I need maximum heel support as I have a high arch and don't pronate at all. Essentially, I want a cushioning running shoe for everything I do, but for many things, that isn't possible. Spot-bilt (Saucony) makes the best of the situation with this shoe. If I switch to another brand, I'll likely be forced to change insoles to something more cushioning, whereas I can get by fine with these. I tried the Mizuno Wave trainer and that shoe was terrible. The only Mizuno product I've ever owned that didn't work.

Essentially, I gave this shoe a 5 for fit and support and a low 4 for all around use. I haven't had to work on the astro-carpet this year, so I lucked out, but as said, there are better shoes for the field turf, which I see in roughly half of my games now. If you see only grass, this is the shoe for you.
