The combination of a Gore-Tex XCR membrane and a breathable mesh upper gives your feet exceptional wetness protection and ample air circulation. Timberland included daisy chain lace loops to give you a custom fit and to lock your heel in place for rough downhills. As you're cruising down, a rigid length clefted foot plate allows your forefoot to flex independently, while the Vibram sole's variable lug pattern provides exceptional traction over all terrain and in any condition.

Completely Waterproof
You can fill this shoe with water, and it will hold it all with no dripping or seeping. The material is completely waterproof. I use the shoe to hike in streams. The water that gets into the shoe actually helps to keep river-bottom gravel out of the shoe. The sole is way comfortable and solid. Shoe insert is very nice. It has a hard heel. Pretty nice tread. I wear it without socks. I bought it for the purpose of river hiking with great anticipation. I had looked for the proper shoe for one year. It exceeded my expectations. I have the maroon color version. It is expensive - I got it in Canada at Winners (equal to Ross or Marshalls) for a lot less.
