The Vasque Women's Pingora Approach Shoe is designed to strike a balance between climbing performance and hiking comfort. The new technical outsole uses Stealth S1 rubber to deliver ultimate friction. These babies will give you suction-cup grip on any terrain. The synthetic suede upper is waterproof and breathable, so your feet will stay comfortable and dry. The Pingora Approach Shoe has a high-performance technical fit, accomplished in part by the asymmetrical lacing system. They run a tad large, so if you're between sizes, size down.

Excellent approach shoes
I've had a pair of Pingoras for about two years and EVERY time I wear them I find myself raving about how great they are. Sturdy, comfortable, sticky rubber is especially nice to have when walking on steep sandstone slabs or any other smooth, steep surface. So now I own a second pair because I wanted to be sure to have a pair on hand when the first finally wears out.

If you like these but find them to be a little stiff, the Merrell Jams are a good alternative (I also have a pair of these) but the Vibram sticky rubber isn't nearly as sticky as the Stealth rubber on the Vasques.
